ICT Year 7
Aims:
In year 7 we aim to build on the ICT strategy that is delivered in primary schools and also aim to build up a student’s range of ICT skills and techniques used whilst paying attention to the intended audience and purpose of a task. Students are required to evaluate their work and to begin making informed decisions in choice of techniques used.
Content:
The year 7 ICT curriculum is unit based and mainly covers levels 4 and 5, with some provision made for levels 3 and 6. Students have 1 lesson of ICT per week.
The units covered are:
Homework is set regularly.
Each unit is assessed and awarded a level plus sublevel.
Extra Curricular:
A computer room is available for student use at lunchtime.

- Virtual School Tour (including taking digital photos and presentation software)
- Spreadsheets and Modelling (formulae, functions, charts, formatting)
- Computer Control (creating flowcharts to control everyday devices)
